Hi,

I wanted to know the cut off percentage in JRF required to get a call. Moreover, I wanted to know if RAT is mandatory. If yes, then can you please elaborate on the pattern and cut offs.

Surya said...

Hello Gayatri,
There is no specified cut off for candidates qualifying through JRF. Hence a call becomes becomes very much contingent on the research proposal and career plan post FPM.
RAT is mandatory in IIML, again no specified cut offs. The pattern of RAT is just like CAT, with a lower degree of difficulty.

Surya

Sir
I want to pursue FPM course from any of the IIMs. I am briefing my profile. Please Let me know.
10th:- 68%
10+2:- 51%
B.tech:- 62%
PGDM:- 70%
Work ex:- 1 yr in a IT company as Project coordinator
I got rejected after scoring 85 %ile in CAT in 2010 when I wanted to PGPM courses in IIMs only because I have an average academic career.
Now I want to pursue FPM is there any chances to get admission or I might get rejected again even after scoring high in CAT as it happened earlier while I wanted to pursue PGPM.
Sir Please clarify if there are any chances than I can think to prepare for CAT this year again.
Its a humble request if you please clarify my doubt.

Dear Dip,
It is difficult to suggest anything with the information provided.
Kindly indicate me the area you are interested to pursue a doctorate. Probably that shall help.
On the hindsight please note that FPM demands a higher quality of academics than PGP.
Best wishes
Surya

Dear Anab,
This blog is primarily to answer programme specific questions.
For area specific questions you may contact any research scholar in any IIM. Their email ids are provided in the website.
Best wishes

Dear Harry,
I am aware I am replying very late to your query to be of any immediate use. But nevertheless I am replying for the benefit of future aspirants. The pattern of WAT(only pattern) may be just like CAT, yet the difficulty level may differ (I have no idea whether higher or lower). Alternatively it may be just an argumentative essay or a case study with a few questions.
Assuming you have attended the selection process, why don't you update here about the WAT process?
Best wishes
Surya

Dear Seniors,
